A scene from Man Pakharu Pakharu.

Not all movies are able to hold the audience’s attention while discussing niche subjects. However, Man Pakharu Pakharu does this without any difficulty. Taking a deep dive into the medicinal field, the movie sheds light upon the heartfelt struggles of patients with neurological disorders.  In this process, this film scrutinises the various facets of a doctor-patient relationship.

Before you proceed, don’t forget to watch the film:

Just like a hearty meal is incomplete without a dessert, an excellent movie does not feel good without the right amount of humour. Agreeing to this mantra, we have Prashant Damle‘s character, Mr Pandit, bringing in tasteful jokes which balance the serious subject of this movie.

2. Mohan Joshi

Mohan Joshi in a scene from Man Pakharu Pakharu.

Just like any other head of the college, Mohan Joshi‘s character has a distaste for humour and is a strong disciplinarian. Being at the superior position at the institute, you see him calling the shots and opposing Dr Pandit’s light-heartedness towards the patients. However, understanding his responsibilities, we love his dedication towards the patients.

3. Sachin Pilgaonkar

Being a patient of neurological disorder is hard for oneself and loved ones to witness. After watching Sachin Pilgaonkar essay a mentally and physically challenged patient,  it felt like the actor was cut out to play this character. In Sarang’s role, he took us on a rollercoaster of emotions that we were unprepared for.

4. Subodh Bhave

In Dr Raje’s character, Subodh Bhave shows us his sensitive side while he is with his patients. He is not scared of breaking away from the archaic medical practices and trying out new methods to improve his patients’ conditions. His patients may not emote through facial expressions, but their actions speak towards their love for the doctor.

5. Girija Oak
