It’s hard to believe an attire as beautiful as a saree can come with a list of hassles longer than those nine yards. First being, picking the right saree for the ocassion you are attending, followed by finding a matching blouse and chic jewellery. But, luckily, we have Khushboo Tawde from Aamhi Doghi showing how to look good in a most basic saree without much trouble. Are you curious? Have a look!

Before you proceed, watch Aamhi Doghi below:

1. Trendy blouse

In Meera’s character on the show, we see Khushboo wearing a plain saree with an interesting blouse. Like her, you too can try out a blouse which has an interesting design. Especially, when you have a shiny blouse, a basic saree will help pull the attention toward the blouse. If not that, don’t fear to play with various sleeves. Like, you can opt for ruffle or bell sleeves.

2. Saree accessories

You can jazz up your grandma’s favourite saree with a broach or a belt of your choice. This will help add some spark to the whole look.

3. Interesting border

This hack will make your saree an actual showstopper without burning a hole in your pocket. All you have to do is take a plain saree and pick a nice border for it. Then, you could ask your tailor to stitch that border. To make it look even better, you could stitch pearl, glittery and shimmery embellishments. This won’t cost much while amping up your look.

4. Different draping styles

You can take your pallu ahead or let it fall on your arms. The latter will also help hide the love handles around your waist. If you have a blouse stitched with lace and has cap sleeves, you could pin up the whole pallu. Depending on the type of blouse you are wearing, your pallu style can be worked upon.

5. Play of colours

It’s not yet that time of the year for you to officially play with colours. However, you are allowed to play with contrasting shades when it comes to the saree territory. You can experiment with shades like red and blue, yellow and pink, bottle green and mustard yellow etc. So long as you carry it with confidence, nothing is really impossible.
