5 New Year’s Resolutions To Help You Start 2020 On A Brighter Note

It feels like just yesterday, when 2019 kicked off. Time has indeed passed by, way too fast! As always, we are left with the task of coming up with the resolutions that we want to incorporate in 2020. It’s time to gain perspective, be politically aware, and be a better version of ourselves. 1. Love yourself

It’s easy to be hard on yourself, when you don’t live up to your own expectations. But, the next time that happens, treat yourself the way you would treat someone you love. Be kind and forgiving, while not forgetting to learn from your past mistakes. Don’t let your inner critic win so easily.

2. Make smart environmental choices 

If you want to let the coming generations enjoy nature’s beauty like you have had the chance to, , then you’ve got to work towards preserving the environment.  Cut the use of plastic and opt for paper bags, glass straws and steel tumblers, that you can carry with you. Be empathetic and think about the oceans and marine life, which have to bear the brunt of your choices.

3. Be more active

Invest in fun workout gear and quirky running shoes, if that’s something that motivates you. When you feel confident about yourself, you will be more inclined towards working out. One of the easiest ways you can start your fitness routine, is by taking the stairs instead of the elevator, whenever possible.

4. Get out of your comfort zone

Only when you get out of your comfort zone, can you learn and expand your horizons. Try and attempt something that you have feared and alter your routine, gradually.  This will also give you satisfaction on a personal level.

5. Be present

 If you catch yourself thinking about the next best thing that’s going to happen in your life, and forget to live in the moment, it’s time to change that. To prevent this from happening, you can connect your mind and body, to practice mindfulness and stay in the present.
