Teenage angst. First love. Random friendships. These are amongst the many things we loved about Boyz. Under the direction of Vishal Devrukhkar, the film captures the emotions every child goes through during adolescence. Going beyond the fun and drama, the story highlights the difficulties of single parenting and the boarding school drama.
Watch them sail through their ups and downs in the boarding school in Boyz:
Like, Dhungya, Dhairya and Kabir, if you have stayed away from your family for education, then, here are some things you will relate to!
1. Being more independent
Kabir has to make his own bed and get up in the morning on time. In the absence of your parent, you have to keep your room clean rather than always having someone at your service.
2. Calling your parents during the weekends
The boarding school kids are not supposed to have a mobile phone. Remember when Kabir almost confiscated Dhungya’s mobile? Without which, you are relying on the phone at your school. However, that comes with a catch as you are allowed to talk to your parents only on the weekends.
3. Sharing a TV
At boarding schools, weekends are enjoyable in the true sense as you get to watch TV after a long week with your books. But, as shown in the movie, there is a common television and all the channels are monitored. Ouch!
4. Roommates are your besties
You will most probably have roommates to share your room with. Sometimes, as time passes you get to know these people and become besties with them. I learnt this from Boyz!
5. Girls and boys hostels are different
You may share some classes with your crush, but that is all. Kabir and Gace have separate hostels, because of which, the only time he gets to meet her is during those breaks and lectures.
All being said and done, boarding school memories are the most unforgettable ones. Which one is your favourite from Boyz?
