2. Ti And Ti
Directed by Nagraj Manjule, Sairat is yet another film that is known for its depiction of picturesque locations. The film is a heart-wrenching take on the apparent caste discrimination in our country and the violence (honour killings) resulting from it. The director wanted the film to come across as realistic as possible and therefore selected his own village of Karmala in Solapur as the shooting location. Some of the most memorable shots include Parshya diving into the water (Ujjani Dam backwaters), and him confronting Archie for the first time (stepwell in Karmala). The brilliant cinematography makes it worth a watch for anyone who is craving to step out of their houses. Stream the film here.
Vazandar is a slice-of-life film directed by Sachin Kundalkar that is based on the lives of two girls Kaveri and Pooja who are on the journey from being fat to fit. Their quest to achieve size-zero is an endearing one as it changes their lives forever. What makes the film more enjoyable is that a big proportion of scenes are set against the backdrop of Panchgani, a beautiful hill station in Satara. The greenery of Panchgani gives it a natural touch that soothes the soul. Watch the film here.
