Ravi Jadhav’s Rampaat is an entertainer in every sense. Starring Abhinay Berde, Kashmira Pardeshi, and Kushal Badrike, this film is high on drama, comedy as well as tragedy. The film tells the story of two youngsters Mithun and Munni who come to Mumbai to pursue their dream of becoming actors. We are taken on their journey of struggling to survive in the city and make it big as actors. If you watch the film, you will see certain similarities that it shares with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, this film was a blockbuster that boasted of glitz and glamour. So what do Rampaat and OSO have in common?
Watch the film here.
Well for starters, Mithun’s over dramatic mother in Rampaat reminds us of Kirron Kher’s character in OSO! The two are die-hard fans of Hindi cinema and even like to talk as if they are narrating dialogues.
Another thing in common between the two films is the retro touch to the soundtracks. You remember Dhoom Tana from OSO where Deepika dressed as a cabaret dancer?
We see a Munni in a similar avatar in Rampaat in a soundtrack from the film that too boasts of a retro setting.
Aside from these factors, it also the magnanimity as well as the dramatic quotient that the films share in common. Do you agree with us? Tell us in the comments section below and don’t forget to watch Rampaat!
