Ask any Maharashtrian in the house their top favourite breakfast dishes, the person will include thalipeeth in the list. This easy breakfast item miraculously shows that healthy and yummy can go hand-in-hand. Made from bhajanee flour, a thalipeeth is ‘a multigrain pancake’ which has high protein and fibre. Our love for this food item was renewed after Sai and Ajji prepared it for Nachiket in Almost Sufal Sampoorna. He instantly fell in love with it. So, like Nachiket if you’re looking to spice up your thalipeeth with delicious sides, here’s a list!

The sourness of the curd balances the spices that are blended in a thalipeeth. The way we each poli and bhaji, similarly one can devour a thalipeeth with curd.

Just like thalipeeth, a mirchi thecha is a peculiarity in every Maharashtrian household. If you like your food spicy, then, thecha with thalipeeth is a match made in heaven.

3. Pickle

Who doesn’t like to devour a homemade pickle? You can add a teaspoon of raw mango pickle and relish it with fresh-off-the-pan thalipeeth. Along with kacchi kairi, don’t hesitate to try out a peanut, green chilli and lemon pickle!

4. Loni

We have seen our Aai and Ajji make loni/white butter out of buttermilk. The creamy texture of this white butter is too die for. You can amp up your eating experience, by gliding a teaspoon or two of loni on the steaming hot thalipeeth. It tastes heavenly!
